Azymuth are Brazil’s most important jazz fusion trio. They have an internationally acclaimed name and even an entry in the Guiness book of Records as the first jazz group to have a Top Forty Billboard hit with Jazz Carnival, a latin influenced fusion which introduced them to a whole host of new fans.
The Azymuth trio consist of José Roberto Bertrami (keyboards), Alex Malheiros (bass and guitar) and Ivan Conti (drums and percussion).
This is an album to remind us of some of those forgotten values, soulful playing recorded with a minimum of ‘tricknology’, eternal rhythms grooved the right way and laced with the timeless beauty of classic Brazilian harmony.
Rio regulars including Marcos Valle and Marcos Resende lend added strenght to an album which sets to re-establish Azymuth for the next millenium. Timeless tracks guarantee that this album will be around for a long time.
